Working with your local farmer
PFFA recommend each community select a couple of Ambassadors, who have the time to spend, and a basic understanding of farming, who could act as suitable conduits between farmers and their communities
We are all here to help make our local farmers’ lives easier, so engaging a couple of knowledgeable local residents to communicate between all parties is very much encouraged. It may be best to start by sending a handwritten letter to your local farmer to share an overview of your thoughts, as a collective within your community, or possibly an email, so that the farmer can understand your motivations, the benefits to him/her, as well as those of the community as a whole, and ask them kindly to contact you to arrange a face to face meeting with a couple of representatives from the community group.
